History
The Memorial Hall commemorates the parishioners who served their country in the 1939 – 1945 war. It was purchased from a fund built up to assist families of the armed forces who had lost their lives whilst serving in the war. Fortunately all returned and after a gratuity was given to all serving personnel the balance was put towards a lasting memorial, namely a village hall. It was erected in the spring of 1950 and is recorded in the National Inventory of War Memorials.
